Planet Surface Textures

A series of 150 FREE Planet Surface Textures for your games or projects!

These are spherically mapped textures intended to be used for texturing 3D planets but can easily be converted into 2D planet sprites using GIMP or Photoshop. Each planet surface texture has been procedurally generated using fault formation and hand-painted elevation colorizers, then rendered as *.png in multiple sizes. Sizes include both 2:1 (1024x512) and 1:1 (512x512) renders, so you can choose the size that works best for you!
